Annivas Vasilopoulos is the driving force behind ANICON, where he serves as Founder and Managing Director. With a sharp strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to technical excellence, he guides the company’s growth and ensures each project meets the highest standards of performance and impact. Over the course of his international career, Annivas has led some of the most complex and high-profile construction and development projects across Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong. From luxury hotels to cultural landmarks and major infrastructure, he has managed multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, culturally diverse environments — always with a solutions-focused mindset and a steady hand.

Before founding ANICON., Annivas held senior leadership roles at the global consultancy Faithful+Gould (Atkins), where he played a pivotal role in delivering iconic projects. His portfolio includes the 42-storey LEED Gold-certified Hari Hotel in Hong Kong, the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix, Hotel G in Singapore, the Australian Embassy Complex in Thailand, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens.

At ANICON., he has fostered a culture grounded in accountability, innovation, and excellence — a foundation that continues to drive both project success and team growth.

A chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) under the Project Management pathway, Anniva’s work has earned wide recognition. In 2019, he received the President’s Award from Faithful+Gould for outstanding achievement in project management, engineering, and design. More recently, he was named to Fortune Magazine’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list in 2024 and featured on both the Builders 100 Power List and 20 Under 40 Construction Engineers, affirming his influence and impact on the built environment.

Irene Romanou serves as Projects Director at ANICON, bringing over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, project management, and construction oversight across a range of high-value, complex infrastructure projects. As a certified Class III Efficient Building Inspector and a registered member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, Irene is recognized for her deep technical expertise and leadership in both design and construction management.

In her current role, Irene leads multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless project execution from the initial stages to final delivery. Her extensive background in structural analysis and antiseismic design, honed through the development of complex studies on major projects such as the Athens Metro, gives her the unique capability to oversee and guide projects with the benefit of hands-on experience. Irene’s past involvement in producing structural and antiseismic design studies has equipped her with invaluable insight into the intricacies of these disciplines, allowing her to effectively manage and review these aspects in her current role.

Among her key projects, Irene has led structural studies for two exclusive private villas on Skorpios Island, overseeing the technical aspects of their design and construction. She also provided technical oversight for the upgrade and development of 14 regional airports across Greece following their transfer to private operation. Irene played a central role as the lead representative on behalf of the client in the planning and development of a 1,200,000 m² integrated resort in the Argolida Prefecture, comprising a 5-star hotel and an 18-hole championship golf course — one of the most ambitious resort projects in the region.

In addition to her work on these high-profile projects, Irene’s experience extends to managing public and private works, energy efficiency inspections, and contract management. Her expertise in structural analysis, reviewing tender documents, and ensuring quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle has been essential in delivering successful projects across various sectors.

Her leadership and deep industry knowledge ensure that each project benefits from her meticulous approach, bridging the gap between design intent and construction realities, and delivering lasting value for clients.

Aris Papadoukas is Technical Director at ANICON, bringing more than 40 years of experience in structural engineering, seismic design, and construction management. A Civil Engineer with a deep foundation in technical design and site execution, Aris has played a central role in delivering some of Greece’s most complex and prominent projects, both in the public and private sectors.

Early in his career, Aris specialized in structural analysis and antiseismic design, producing studies for a wide array of infrastructure, civic, and institutional works — including the Athens Metro, the Suburban Railway, high-voltage substations, airport installations, and military housing complexes. This technical grounding has remained integral to his approach, providing a framework of discipline and foresight that informs every project he undertakes.

Over the past two decades, Aris has served in key leadership roles, most notably as Construction Manager, where he was responsible for overseeing the coordination, execution, and delivery of large-scale developments. His work in this role includes the expansion of the South Wing at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” — a major operational and commercial extension spanning five levels and 17,000 m² — as well as the transformation of landmark venues such as the 5,000-seat Athens Arena music and entertainment complex.

He also managed the delivery of major commercial and hospitality developments, including the Media Markt shopping center in Peristeri, Alpha Studios in Pallini, and a 10,000 m² bioclimatic office complex for Alpha Bank. Notably, he directed the construction of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation in Athens — a technically demanding project that combined the restoration of a protected early-20th-century structure with the construction of a new seven-story facility across five underground levels.

Aris has also led the construction of luxury private residences, boutique hotels, and specialized facilities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing subcontractors and general contractors, and ensuring delivery in line with the highest technical standards, strict timelines, and rigorous regulatory requirements.

At ANICON, Aris combines his technical depth and field experience to provide robust oversight across all phases of design and construction. As the Technical Director, he upholds the company’s commitment to precision, resilience, and lasting quality, ensuring that every project is not only executed to specification but built to endure.
